Check out the characteristics
of rubber
A quality material that lasts over time
A material made from elastomers (natural or synthetic rubber) that is highly elastic and deforms visibly when subjected to even relatively small force but quickly returns to its original state (shape and size) as soon as the force is removed. To obtain these specific properties the polymer must be subjected to a cross-linking process called vulcanisation, which sees sulphur used as an additive and heat applied to cure the compound.
This process creates chemical bonds between the macromolecules and the rubber gains elastic and mechanical properties such as hardness, rebound resilience and tear strength. Rubber soles are particularly suitable for casual, fashion and highly technical footwear such as safety and hiking boots.
